Sin is Inherent
up in the distance a light shines brightly onto your pathway
as shadows emerge all around you and unclean thoughts pass through your mind
you must keep your step consistent
temptation reaches out its greedy hands, playing upon your mind's desires
its offer of sensual pleasures envelopes your very soul
your heart pounds with excitement and your body shakes as you are overcome with its power
and the promise of freedom suddenly its gone
and you realize that you are not free, but a slave to your own flesh, that has betrayed you having been raped of all dignity
you are left alone and on a pathway unfamiliar to your own eyes
that bright shinning light that once stood securely up in the distance illuminating your way has gone
only the shadows remain
but they offer little hope to a dying heart
everything that could have been is lost forever
standing there on that dark and gloomy pathway
you realize that nothing is worth sacrificing you own soul
the light of understanding shines and the cause of your troubles are know
